GUARDIAN damp removal

WHAT IS THE PROBLEM WITH YOUR HOUSE?

Causes of damp walls and areas for damp protection application

Causes of damp walls:

Kapilarna vlaga

RISING DAMP

Walls absorb water from the ground like a sponge half immersed in water due to the effect known as capillary effect. It is caused by the lack of or the damage of insulation between the ground and walls. This is a classic example of the situation where the GUARDIAN damp removal device is applied. When turned on, it returns the wall damp back to the ground.

Bočna vlaga

LATERAL DAMP

A wall is embedded in the ground and its exterior side is in direct contact with the soil. In case of a lack or a poor (damaged) vertical sealing, the wall absorbs the water also on that side. By installing the GUARDIAN damp removal device, the wall will be dry on its interior side, but towards its exterior side, where it is directly in contact with the ground, the damp would still be present. Consequently, the length of the drying process will depend on the soil conditions.

Podzemna voda pod pritiskom

GROUNDWATER UNDER PRESSURE

The object is on site with groundwater and the water under pressure enters the wall from beneath. The basement is often damp (wet) due to temporary or permanent increase of the groundwater level. Since, in this case, vertical sealing is not possible, the impact of drying the wall with the use of the GUARDIAN damp removal device is reduced or prevented. In these cases, it is necessary, if possible, to redirect the groundwater by drainage. Following which, the application of the GUARDIAN damp removal device will become fully efficient.

Bočna voda pod pritiskom

LATERAL WATER UNDER PRESSURE

The object is located on a slope and water resistant layers in the soil push the damp laterally into the wall. Unless the procedure of vertical sealing is undertaken, the wall will be completely waterlogged. In this case, the GUARDIAN damp removal device achieves its full drying impact only if the wall is vertically sealed and if drainage has been performed.

By the use of the GUARDIAN damp removal, the wall damp is returned back to the soil.

Kondenzacijska vlaga

DAMPNESS CAUSED BY CONDENSATION

Dampness absorbs in the walls once wet and warm air touches the cold wall surface. This is caused by the insufficient thermal insulation, inadequate ventilation (especially in damp spaces), but also by the excessive thermal insulation preventing the natural air circulation. Often, the causes can be easily removed by regular airing and ventilating of the room. The GUARDIAN damp removal improves the overall room climate.

Hidroskopna vlaga

HYGROSCOPIC DAMPNESS

Walls absorb humidity from the air via hygroscopic effects that might be caused by, for example, rusting of iron items in the wall or chemical reactions (incompatible plastering). Furthermore, layers of salt in plaster or walls absorb water from the air. Those effects interfere with the drying process by the use of the GUARDIAN damp removal device; therefore, they should first be remedied by other adequate methods.

Puknuće instalacije

DAMAGED INSTALLATIONS

Water penetrates the walls through damaged water or sewage pipes i.e. through damaged roofing installations. Those types of damages must be identified and remedied by trained professionals; otherwise, they will hinder the application of any drying method.

Zaljevanje vodom

WATER SPRINKLING AND HEAVY RAINFALL

Sprinkling of rain, moving vehicles, poorly installed irrigation systems, water sprinklers etc. may lead to damages caused by water in the bases of the objects. This can be prevented by adequate protective measures. Damage caused by heavy rainfall and wind can cause even bigger problems. It occurs in situations when the rain penetrates the poorly protected wall and soaks it wet. The affected wall surfaces, especially the ones on the side mostly exposed to the bad weather conditions, should be improved by adequate interventions.
